Abstract
O Relatório detalhado da atividade profissional elaborado versa sobre “O papel
do Diretor de Turma na relação escola / família”.
Pretende-se atingir os seguintes objetivos: i) analisar a importância e utilidade da
figura do Diretor de Turma na escola; ii) identificar as circunstâncias em que a maioria
dos Encarregados de Educação se desloca à escola; iii) refletir sobre as razões
subjacentes à reduzida participação dos Encarregados de Educação na vida da
escola; iv) caracterizar os elementos que mais contribuem para o êxito da ação do
Diretor de Turma junto das famílias; e v) analisar a importância da relação escola –
Encarregados de Educação na escola.
Em termos metodológicos, adotou-se a narrativa autobiográfica, no âmbito da
investigação qualitativa, pois foi descrito o desempenho enquanto Diretor de Turma e
refletiu-se sobre essa função.
No que concerne aos resultados obtidos, refere-se que continua a ser
problemática e distante a relação entre família-escola-família assumindo o Diretor de
Turma um papel muito importante no atenuar desse afastamento.
Continua a ser urgente mudar alguns aspetos na vida escolar, nomeadamente,
utilizar uma linguagem acessível a todos; flexibilizar os rituais e as normas
administrativas das escolas; envolver os Encarregados de Educação e motivá-los,
tornando-os seus parceiros e permitindo a sua colaboração na elaboração de
atividades de interesse geral.
The detailed Report of the professional activity that I have done is about “the role of Class Director in the relationship between school and family”. The aims of my Report are: i) to analyse the importance and usefulness of the Class Director role at school; ii) to identify the circumstances in which most of the parents visit school; iii) to reflect on the reasons underlying the reduced participation of parents in school life; iv) to characterise the elements that contribute the most to the success of the Class Director work with the families; and v) to analyse the importance of the school - parents relationship at school. In methodological terms, I adopted an autobiographical narrative, concerning my qualitative research, because I have described my performance as a Class Director (CD) and I have reflected on this role. According to the obtained results, I refer that the relationship between familyschool- family continues to be problematic and distant and the CD continues to have a very important role in mitigating this distance. The main contributions of this report are the following it is a reflection made by a teacher who has held a lot of positions in lots of schools; so that we can reverse the distancing trend of the parents from school, it is urgent to change this entity, using an accessible language to all; we should make the rituals and administrative rules of schools more flexible; teachers should call parents, motivating and making them feel partners, allowing them to collaborate in the development of activities of general interest.
