Abstract
simultaneamente.
Objetivos: O presente estudo procura adaptar o TEM a uma amostra portuguesa e
analisar as caraterísticas psicométricas do instrumento, assim como caraterizar a
amostra em função do seu desempenho.
Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo descritivo-correlacional, comparativo,
transversal, utilizando a metodologia quantitativa. Participaram no estudo 104 idosos
Mini Metal State Examination (MMSE), Teste de memória Lógica I e II
(WMS-III), Teste de Cores e Palavras de Stroop, Teste de Estratégias de Memória
(TEM), sub-testes Vocabulário e Memória de Dígitos da WAIS-III (Wechsler Adult
Intelligence Scale), Teste de Fluência Verbal e a Classificação de Cartões de Wisconsin
(WSCT).
e a memória simultâneamente, demonstrando características psicométricas adequadas.
Introduction: In the absence of instruments to assess the impact of executive functions in the performance of memory tasks, the adaptation of the Testof Memory Strategies (TEM) for a portuguese sample is essential. Furthermore, most of the instruments used for measuring these capabilities evaluate memory and the different EFs separately, and the TEM evaluates these two constructs simultaneously. Objectives: This study aimed to adapt TEM to a portuguese sample and analyze the psychometric characteristics of the instrument, as well as characterize the sample according to their performance. Metodology: This is a descriptive-correlational, comparative and cross study, using quantitative methodology. Participated in this study 105 elderly over 60 years, literate, without color blindness, cognitive impairment or disturbance and included in day centers, community or home in the district of Porto. Procedure and instruments: In a session of 60 minute approximately, and after informed consent, were applied eight instruments: socio-demographic questionnaire, Mini Metal State Examination (MMSE), Logical Memory I and II Test (WMS-III), Stroop Color and Word Test, Test of Memory Strategies (TEM), the subtests Vocabulary and Digit Memory WAIS-III (Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale), Verbal Fluency Test and Wisconsin Card Rating (WSCT). Results: It has been found an improved performance in the subjects through TEM lists and reliability indicators (α = .66), and construct validity and criterion, with weak to moderate correlations between r = .20 and r = .52 with the classic tests of memory and between r = -24 and r = .38 with the classic tests of executive functions. Conclusion: The TEM reveals have the ability to measure executive functions and memory simultaneously, demonstrating adequate psychometric characteristics.
