Abstract
A principal ambição do presente estudo é compreender de que forma
professores de uma escola de formação de professores do município do Cambulo
percecionam a liderança protagonizada pelo diretor. De modo a dar resposta à
problemática de investigação, anteriormente mencionada, delinearam-se três
objetivos de investigação, designadamente: i) caracterizar o modo como
professores da escola de formação de professores do município do Cambulo
percecionam a liderança protagonizada pelo diretor; ii) compreender a influência
do diretor nas dinâmicas de trabalho docente e iii) desenvolver conhecimento
sobre o estilo de liderança preconizado na escola de formação de professores do
município do Cambulo.
A metodologia adotada na presente investigação assumiu uma natureza
essencialmente qualitativa, tendo o estudo de caso sido a estratégia de
investigação privilegiada. O estudo empírico decorreu no ano letivo de 2014 numa
escola de formação de professores do município de Cambulo. A principal técnica
de recolha de dados foi o inquérito por questionário MLQ de Avolio & Bass (2004)
aplicado à totalidade dos docentes (n=51), tendo sido validados 35 dos
questionários respondidos. A análise de estatística simples foi a técnica de
tratamento de dados usada.
Os principais resultados do estudo apontaram para o facto de o diretor da
escola de formação de professores do município do Cambulo revelar atitudes
comportamentais e posições consonantes com as características dos três tipos de
liderança, sendo notória a prevalência das características associadas à Liderança
Transformacional e à Liderança Transacional sobre as da Liderança Laissez-Faire.
The main ambition of this study is to understand how teachers in a training school for teachers in the municipality of Cambulo perceive the leadership led by the school principal. In order to address this issue of research is outlined – three research objectives, namely: i) characterize how teachers of the training school for teachers in the municipality of Cambulo perceive the leadership led by the school principal; ii) understand the influence of the school principal in the teaching work dynamics iii) develop knowledge about the style of leadership developed in the training school for teachers in the municipality of Cambulo. The methodology adopted in this research took an essentially qualitative nature, taking the case study was the preferred research strategy. The empirical study took place in the school year 2014 in a training school for teachers in the municipality of Cambulo. The main data collection technique was the MLQ questionnaire of Avolio & Bass (2004) applied to all the teachers (n=51) from which we received 35 validated questionnaires. A simple statistical analysis was the data processing technique used. The main results of the study point to the fact that the school principal of the training school for teachers in the municipality of Cambulo reveal behavioral attitudes and positions consonants with the characteristics of three types of leadership, being notorious a prevalence of characteristics associated with Transformational Leadership and Leadership Transactional above the Laissez- Faire Leadership characteristics.
