Abstract
A presente investigação, dedicada à indisciplina e violência no contexto escolar, surge
This research, dedicated to indiscipline and violence at school, arises from the inappropriate behavior observed in students of the 10th grade at the Secondary School of the Institute of Religious Sciences of Angola (ICRA) in Huambo. This phenomenon of school violence is a phenomenon of great social impact, causing concern in the different groups involved in the educational process especially in teachers because they are directly affected by its effects. Thus, the main objective of this study is to gain knowledge on the forms of interpersonal violence prevalent among adolescents in schools and understand their impact on students involved in the teaching-learning process. From a methodological point of view, this is a descriptive study of a mixed nature (quantitative and qualitative methods), focusing specially on data collection in the form of questionnaires, the first applied to 120 students selected by simple random sampling and the second applied to 28 teachers selected intentionally, which constituted the sample of this research. As a product of the analysis of results, depending on the methods used, it can be said that there are several types of school violence that affect the state of physical and mental health of individuals. Note also that verbal (psychological) aggression is the most prevalent kind of violence in this educational institution. Hence it is necessary that the school pay attention to what is happening: the relationship of teachers and students destabilized by various phenomena of violence. We recommend that the school implement a more open management model to promote the participation of parents and families in the decision-making process involving school problems, increasing their understanding of school life, and intensifying educational cooperation between the school and families together to find acceptable solutions for a better future of children.
