Abstract
The design of robots that can avoid obstacles has been attempted and succeeded several times. The path mapping procedure, the methods used to establish the operating parameters, and the sensor selection all vary throughout these efforts. This research presents an inexpensive ultrasonic distance sensor for mobile robot navigation’s obstacle avoidance feature. The Arduino UNO microcontroller, a Wi-Fi module, and an Arduino motor shield driver-which drives the robot’s geared DC motors-are used to create the system. The technology performed well in a range of illumination scenarios. The experimental results show that the robot can avoid obstacles and that it performs reasonably in our laboratory, even with a variety of obstacle placements. Additionally, the robot is prepared to identify victims ahead of it.
