Abstract
The present final report of teaching practice, presented to the University Portucalense Infante D.Henrique in fulfilling the compulsory requirements to obtain the Master degree in History and Geography Teaching of the 3rd cycle and Secondary Education, done under the supervision of Doctor Marta Abelha, reflects the experiences of pedagogical work accomplished during the internship carried out in the Agrupamento Vertical de Escolas de Castelo de Paiva, in particular, with three classes of the 3rd cycle. This report aims to present, in a systematic way, a reflection about the internship, particularly on the experienced situations in the classroom context, which allowed the development of teaching-learning experiences using diversified pedagogical-didactic resources, in order to enable students the development of essential skills to the good performance in the Geography subject. Throughout this exercise we seek to make a critical reflection of the formative trajectory as a probationary teacher, broaching processes, performances and challenges faced throughout the daily professional experience. The report as a reflexive proposalis also based on the collected data obtained through the questionnaires applied to the three classes of the co-operating teachers from which we tried to measure the perception of students on class management strategies, pedagogical methods and techniques used by the geography teachers. Through pedagogical experiences, systematic direct participant observation, observation-participation and systematic indirect observation using the inquiry by questionnaire, it was possible to apprehend indicators about the importance of a careful preparation and planning of the lessons, using a range of pedagogical-didactic resources, always bearing in mind the students’ characteristics in order to promote the efficiency of the teaching-learning strategies. The link between the reflected planning, the use of diversified resources and taking into account the specificities of the students stand out as a set of efficient strategies for the success in classroom management and the development of contents in the Geography discipline.
