Abstract
The main goal of this study was to reflect on the problem of Hyperactivity…this is a growing problem that is haunting our schools nowadays. Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a chronic condition that affects millions of children and often persists into adulthood. ADHD includes a combination of problems, such as difficulty sustaining attention, hyperactivity and impulsive behavior. This disorder represents a real challenge inside the classroom; therefore it becomes crucial to know how to intervene to help these students, in a proper way, applying the correct educational and behavioral strategies /practices in order to promote these students’ academic success. The intention of this study was to analyze which the attitudes of primary school teachers are facing the inclusion of hyperactive students. Analyzing concepts and theories that help understanding and interpreting these attitudes and verify in what way the presence of hyperactive students may influence their pedagogical intervention, giving an important contribution to the knowledge and better response to hyperactive students in primary levels. To achieve all the above-mentioned goals, a study of quantitative analyses was applied, through a questionnaire, as a way to obtain data, in a sample of 30 teachers of primary school level in the Agrupamento Afonso Sanches schools, in Vila do Conde.
