Abstract
Com este trabalho de investigação pretendemos ter uma perceção mais ampla da
realidade educativa, passando pelo entendimento das estratégias e respostas de ensino
que os professores podem oferecer aos alunos com deficiência mental.
Sendo de extrema importância e da responsabilidade dos professores fazer com
que os alunos com deficiência mental recebam uma educação apropriada de acordo com
as suas características e necessidades específicas, quisemos conhecer e perceber até que
ponto os professores do 1º C.E.B. se sentem preparados para satisfazer de forma
positiva as necessidades desses alunos.
Para a consecução deste estudo, demos primazia aos objetivos propostos,
iniciando com um enquadramento teórico, através de uma revisão bibliográfica e
documental, de forma a encontrarmos o apoio necessário para a problemática em
questão.
Quanto à componente prática, utilizámos como processo de recolha de dados o
inquérito por questionário a professores do 1ºC.E.B. num Agrupamento de escolas do
concelho de Vila do Conde.
Posteriormente, foi feita uma análise e interpretação dos dados obtidos,
sintetizados na forma de tabelas e uma breve síntese.
A partir da análise dos resultados conseguimos constatar que os professores
sentem algumas dificuldades na adequação das aprendizagens a alunos com
necessidades educativas especiais, no entanto, procuram aplicar respostas educativas
diversificadas no sentido de melhorar o desenvolvimento do ensino das aprendizagens
destes alunos.
Assim, em forma de conclusão podemos afirmar que a procura por novas
respostas educativas é uma realidade no universo dos professores do 1.º C.E.B..
The purpose of this study of Investigation is to have a wider perspective of the educational reality, through the understanding of the teaching strategies and responses teachers can offer to students with mental retardation. As it is extremely important and of teachers’ responsibility to make students with Mental Retardation receive a proper education according to their characteristics and specific needs, the goal was to understand how far primary level teachers feel prepared to respond in a positive way to these students’ needs. In order to carry out this study, special attention was given to the proposed objectives, initiating the theoretical research, throughout a bibliographical and documental revision, in order to find the necessary support to the problem in question. As far as the practical component of this study is concerned, the questionnaire was the main process used to collect data and it was applied to primary school teachers in Vila do Conde. At a late stage, all the obtained data was analyzed and interpreted, being synthesised in table and brief summary. After analysing the obtained results, it was possible to conclude that teachers feel some difficulties in teaching adequately these students with special needs, however, they try to apply different educational responses in a way to improve these students´ teaching development. This way, to conclude, it´s possible to affirm that the search for new educational responses is a reality in the primary teacher´s universe.
