Abstract
Desta
forma, pretendemos aferir se a prova é percetível pelas crianças e pelos adolescentes;
analisar as dificuldades que foram percetíveis; estabelecer recomendações de aplicação;
(Almeida, Coimbra, Costa-Lobo & Yamin, in press).
Background: Intelligence and creativity are two variables that have been attracting the interest of researchers, since it is consensual to both have impact on human potential. Faced with an increasingly demanding society and competitive we intend to sensitize parents, educators and teachers in order to promote a pedagogical differentiated intervention to stimulate the development of these competencies that direct students towards excellence. Objectives: Study A: This study contribute to the validation of the Portuguese version of EPoC battery. In this way, we want to determine if the evidence is perceptive about the kids and teenagers; analyze the difficulties which were observed; establish recommendations for implementation; assess the difficulties that were experienced in the quotation process. Study B: To analyze the performance of children with characteristics of giftedness considering the cognitive processes (integration and expansion) and the contents of tasks (verbal and graphic); analyze the relationship between performance on intelligence tests (subtests of the WISC-III) and evidence of creativity (EPoC); analyse to what extent the correlations between intelligence and creative potential varies according to age, specifically, between the end of childhood and the early teens. Method: Study A - A sample of 166 students filled out a sociodemographic Questionnaire (Rocha, Almeida & Costa-Lobo, 2015), as well as performed the version A of EPoC (Almeida, Coimbra, Costa-Lobo & Yamin, in press). Study B - A sample of 31 students with giftedness features was applied a sociodemographic Questionnaire (Rocha, Almeida & Costa-Lobo, 2015), the version A of EPoC (Almeida, Coimbra, Costa-Lobo & Yamin, in press) and the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Third edition-WISC-III (Wechsler, 2004). Results: Study A - It was found that with practice, the process of listing the evidence of EPoC becomes simpler, evidence that allows us to conclude that it is possible to obtain a consensus score between the evaluators. The inter-judges agreement process allowed gauge after several applications it is possible to establish a minimum level of agreement among judges. Study B - Both the measures that we proposed study, intelligence and creative potential does not seem to be correlated. The results point to a relative autonomy and independence in these constructs. Comparative analysis between age groups it was possible to identify that the largest percentage of students who assumes that the discipline you like least is the Portuguese is the age group of older. However, the group comprises the younger children, there seems to be more illustration of independence or contrast between production of creative potential and intelligence. Conclusions: With this contribution is intended to clarify the influence that intelligence and creativity presented on giftedness. It is crucial to promote a sustained intervention in pedagogical differentiation and curriculum flexibility, given the uniqueness of each student, in order to enhance the diversity of responsibilities, respecting the heterogeneity of each child. Only through intervention in these areas if achieve positive repercussions both in the family context as within these children educational.
