Objective: This work aims to systematize and contextualize relevant theoretical and practical considerations in the dynamics of talent management in a business context, as well as observe in the practical implementation in small and medium enterprises in the north of Portugal. Methodology: The first part is composed by a literature review related to the theme and, in the second part, a qualitative study adapted from Vroom (1964, quoted by Chiavenato, 2014) was developed, using in-depth interviews as a tool for gathering information. Results: As expected results, we intend to characterize, systematize and understand the best ideas, reflections and practices in talent management and their impact on organizational innovation. Research limitations: The use of a single source for gathering information from those in charge of communication management in organizations through in-depth interviews, limiting the dialectics of global understanding of their views on the subject. Practical implications: In practical and operational terms, it is possible to understand the dynamics of employees' individual efficiency in organizational performance and systematize relevant considerations on this subject. Originality and value: Its main contribution and value consists of analyzing and understanding more efficiently the managers’ “attitude towards employees” satisfaction, involvement and commitment, and their relevance to performance and organizational reputation. Organizational innovation is based on observing, interpreting and adapting the expectations and desires of all stakeholders, developing a continuous innovation strategy incorporated with the overall goal of the organization.pt_PT
