Abstract
existência aquando a elaboração do PCT. Deste modo, as respostas educativas
The aims of this present study are about Grammar School teachers´ attitudes and representations and the way they deal with the learning Difficulties (LD), how they identify them in the Class Curriculum Project (CCP), how they evaluate them and how they answer at their needs and difficulties. Based on these goals we have moved forward with an investigation, making the following questions: How do the primary teachers mention the LD in the Class Curriculum Projet? How do they define LD? Which educational/strategic answers are recommended for these students in the CCP? Which difficulties do primary teachers feel about this situation? How are the LD students evaluated? We have used a quantitative method to be able to answer all the above mentioned questions. We have also proceded to the construction and aplication of an inquiry by questioning 124 teachers from Municipality of Porto - Grammar School of Maia. After analysis of the obtained results we have verified that the Grammar School teachers do not do suitable evaluations and do not refer correctly the LD students. They have these problems because of the difficulties in the concept definition as well as problems that exist at their initial education level. Consequently they do not mention correctly the LD children in the Class Curriculum Project. On the other hand we achieved the conclusion that the lack of evaluation makes them doing only an informal evaluation. No registers are done. Though they have a major part in the evaluation procedure, they do not have a precise definition in their ways of acting, sending the evaluation/routing of those children to other technicians, ignoring their existence while the CCP is being done. This way the organized evaluated answers to children with LD are anadapted at their difficulties. So the regular school organisation does not seem to be prepared to scholastic insert and that goes against the principle of an inclusive school. Modestly desiring to contribute to a better and deep knowledge concerning the LD we decided to focus this work in the teacher´s role concerning this area and this work it seems to be very important to understand the reason why the Learning Difficulties in the Class Curriculum Project are not mentioned by some Grammar School Teachers.
