Abstract
cognitivas y comportamentales, recorriendo a instrumientos psicométricos
The neuropsychological evaluation of ADHD always begins with a clinical interview, followed by an exploration of cognitive functions and behavioral symptoms, using psychometric instruments and clinical scales. While the psychometric strategy and the use of ADHD assessment scales may be useful for a global screening of suspected ADHD, and in fact can achieve similarly clinically predictable prevalence indexes, it is not too advisable for specific screening of the subtypes of ADHD. This requires a more complete diagnostic process that may include neurocognitive tests and information about the child's adaptation to ecologically valid and generalizable real life contexts in order to help us determine the subtype of ADHD present in the child. In this chapter we will present the evaluation instruments most used in clinical practice.
