Abstract
vulnerabilidad cognitiva (Antshel, 2008). Autores como Goodman,
Simonoff y Stevenson (1995) y Rapport, Scanlan y Denney (1999),
estan asociados(Leroux & Levitt-Perlman, 2000; Hartnett et al., 2004;
The diagnosis of ADHD in gifted individuals is controversial, since this disruption continues to be frequently associated with cognitive vulnerability (Antshel, 2008). Authors such as Goodman, Simonoff and Stevenson (1995) and Rapport, Scanlan and Denney (1999), state that the lack of attention and hyperactivity may affect intelligence in all children, regardless of the presence of clinically significant ADHD. Contrary to these positions, several studies are opposed, arguing that the giftedness and ADHD are often associated with (Leroux & Levitt-Perlman, 2000; Hartnett et al., 2004; Webb et al., 2005). Manahim and Rohde (2015), claim that there is a high frequency of symptoms of ADHD observed in adults, either in gifted children, information that support the validity of this diagnosis in this population and suggests the existence of a neurodevelopmental condition underlying these symptoms. Comparative studies of Antshel, et al. (2007) suggest that the diagnosis of ADHD is valid in gifted children.
