Projecto: rede de bibliotecas de Macedo de Cavaleiros.

Abstract

O objecto deste trabalho é a concepção de um projecto para a criação de uma rede concelhia de bibliotecas. O projecto, propriamente dito, é precedido de duas partes: uma de enquadramento teórico e outra de caracterização do local de implementação - o concelho de Macedo de Cavaleiros. No enquadramento teórico, perspectiva-se o novo paradigma social, emergente da lógica de organização em rede, que marca esta nova Era do Conhecimento e aborda-se, sucintamente, a situação de Portugal. Faz-se uma resenha das políticas nacionais e internacionais para o desenvolvimento da sociedade em rede, nomeadamente, no âmbito das bibliotecas públicas e escolares. Do local de implementação do projecto, apresenta-se uma caracterização geográfica e morfológica, demográfica e sócio-económica. Na terceira parte, constituída pelo projecto, enunciam-se primeiramente os pressupostos teóricos a considerar na construção da infra-estrutura física e virtual de uma rede colaborativa de âmbito concelhio. Posteriormente, abordam-se aspectos essenciais de hardware e software implicados na construção de uma rede de bibliotecas e tecem-se algumas considerações acerca das funcionalidades dos catálogos de acesso público em linha. Na concepção do projecto, parte-se da definição de objectivos e apresenta-se uma estrutura de subdivisão do trabalho, fazendo o cruzamento das fases do projecto, intervenientes, tarefas e duração temporal da consecução de cada fase. Ainda no âmbito da concepção do projecto, particularizam-se as três vertentes que o constituem: a construção da rede informática; a definição da estrutura funcional da rede; a construção do Portal. The purpose of this work is the conception of a project to create a network of council libraries. The project itself, is preceded by two parts: one is the theoretical frame and the other is the characterization of the location where it is going to be implemented – the council of Macedo de Cavaleiros. In the theoretical frame, a new social pattern is anticipated, it emerges from the logics of the organization in a network, that marks this New Era of Knowledge and approaches, shortly, the situation in Portugal. An inventory of national and international politics for the development of the network society, specially in the range of the public and school libraries, is made. A geographic and morphologic, demographic, social and economic characterization of the location is presented. In the third part, made up by the project, the theoretical surmises to be considered in the construction of the physical and virtual infra-structure of a cooperative network, in the council range, are firstly stated. Then, essential aspects of hardware and software implied by the construction of a network of libraries are approached and some considerations are made about the functions of the catalogues for public access on-line. The conception of the project starts with the definition of objectives and a structure of subdivision of the work is presented, intersecting the stages of the project, participants, tasks, and duration of the execution of every stage. In what the conception of the project is concerned, the three parts that make it up, are specified: the construction of the computer network; the definition of the functional structure of the network, the construction of the portal.
