Abstract
As Relações
implementar as medidas solicitadas.
Direitos Fundamentais e Humanos.
The analysis of António de Oliveira Salazar and the Estado Novo speech and rhetoric, the Portuguese International Relations and the Diplomacy are clear concerning the “distance” between the image created by the speech and the reality. Portugal, by his geopolitical position, had an important role during the II World War by the Cooperating Neutrality, with the Allies and with Hitler. The International Relations with United Nations, as well as with other Organizations, were diplomatic but complex due the Colonial Empire. Salazar did not disputed but didn´t feel the obligation in implementing the asked measures. With the Colonial War Portugal received different “attention calls”, particularly by UN, that were ignored and nothing has changed the armed struggle, with catastrophic results to everyone with the death of thousands of military, as well as, with serious physical and psychological consequences to the survivors. Doubtless, Salazar generated a different image comparing to the reality where the Fundamental and Human Rights were violated.
