Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused unprecedented disruptions to global and regional supply chains. Mobility restrictions, factory/company shutdowns and changes in demand have disrupted operational normality and people׳s daily lives. Supply chains faced challenges in maintaining the continuous flow of goods and services, exposing vulnerabilities in dependence on single suppliers or specific geographies. This scenario has encouraged the search for resilient solutions, such as diversifying suppliers and investing in innovation and technology for greater visibility and predictability. The crisis has reiterated the need to build more resilient, adaptable and flexible supply chains. Pointing to technological innovation, sustainability and strategic collaboration between companies as necessary tools to face global challenges, and showed opportunities in various sectors, which chains must know how to capitalize on.
