O fenómeno da pobreza e as implicações do voluntariado

Abstract

A problemática da pobreza tem vindo a ganhar uma atenção crescente tanto no plano nacional como a nível da União Europeia e da Comunidade Internacional. Esta atenção revela-se no esforço de um conhecimento mais aprofundado sobre o fenómeno, procurando identificar as suas causas, extensão e características, tentando encontrar as melhores práticas para a combater. Assim, por um lado, é de extrema premência uma política, que combata a pobreza de maneira mais «estrutural», pois, a pobreza envergonhada é uma realidade que se tornou mais pertinente com a crise que o mundo enfrenta. A presente dissertação é resultado de um processo de investigação direccionado para a clarificação do fenómeno da pobreza, procurando analisar o papel do voluntariado no combate a este flagelo social. The issue of poverty has gained increasing attention both nationally and at European Union and the International Community. This attention appears to be in the effort to a better understanding of the phenomenon, trying to identify the causes, extent and characteristics, trying to find the best practices to combat it. Thus, on one hand, it is of extreme urgency a policy to combat poverty in a more «structural» way because ashamed poverty is a reality that has become more pertinent with the crisis facing the world. This dissertation is the result of an investigation aimed at clarifying the phenomenon of poverty, trying to analyze the role of volunteering in combating this social scourge.
