Una mirada desde el metaverso a la ciudad

Abstract

El metaverso representa el entorno más nuevo en el que las personas podrán trabajar, aprender, comprar y socializar. Este entorno tiene poderes causales y es independiente de nuestras mentes. Ya que como han demostrado Bruno Latour y otros, no existe ningún objeto tecnológico discreto que sea pura y totalmente inhumano o reducible a una neutralidad puramente instrumental. Esto es especialmente importante, ya que la disposición de los entornos físicos dicta posteriormente las interacciones sociales y las posibilidades de las personas a las que sirven, por lo que es importante analizar las tendencias actuales, a fin de educar para el futuro. No hay que subestimar la importancia de la creciente socialización virtual a la hora de entender el ciclo vital de las ciudades. Este artículo pretende profundizar en el marco del análisis de la representación de las ciudades en lo que respecta a las (re)articulaciones de lo humano y lo no humano.

The metaverse represents the newest environment where people will be able to live, work, learn, shop, and socialize. This environment has causal powers and is independent of our minds. As Bruno Latour and others have shown, there is no discrete technological object which is purely and totally inhuman or reducible to a purely instrumental neutrality. This is especially important, since the arrangement of physical environments subsequently dictates the social interactions and possibilities of the people they serve, so it is important to analyse current trends, in order to educate for the future. The importance of increasing virtual socialisation in understanding the life cycle of cities should not be underestimated. This article aims to delve deeper into the framework of the analysis of the representation of cities in terms of the (re)articulations of the human and the non-human.
