Algumas notas sobre o impacto do apadrinhamento civil na protecção das crianças e jovens em Portugal

Abstract

Embora o apadrinhamento civil esteja em vigor há vários anos em Portugal, os números revelam que o instituto está longe de ocupar, na consciência (também jurídica) geral, o lugar que o legislador julgou que, pelas suas virtualidades, pudesse vir a ter entre as formas de integração familiar duradoura de crianças e jovens. Partindo de uma análise sumária de alguns casos, procuramos perceber algumas das difculdades com que o apadrinhamento civil se tem confrontado. Although child fostering has been in force for several years in Portugal, statistics shows that the institute is far from occupying the space considered by the legislator between all the forms of lasting family integration of children and young people. We make a summary analysis of some cases and we try to understand some of the diffculties faced by special guardianship in the general and also in the legal conscience.
