Tendencias en usabilidad y accesibilidad: Un análisis bibliométrico

Abstract

La usabilidad y accesibilidad se han convertido en pilares esenciales en el desarrollo de software, ya que ambos factores son claves para ofrecer una experiencia de usuario óptima, facilitando una interacción eficiente y efectiva entre las personas y los sistemas tecnológicos. Reconocer la evolución de estos aspectos y su creciente relevancia es crucial para maximizar sus beneficios, lo que a su vez impacta positivamente en la calidad de los productos software. En este sentido, el estudio mostrado en este artículo, llevó a cabo un análisis bibliométrico utilizando la herramienta Bibliometrix, cuyo objetivo fue explorar las tendencias actuales de investigación en la evaluación de la usabilidad y accesibilidad en productos software. Los resultados del análisis revelan un crecimiento anual en las publicaciones científicas relacionadas del 3,1% entre el año 1988 y 2024, lo que refleja el interés sostenido y en aumento de la comunidad investigadora en estos temas. De igual forma, el análisis ofrece una visión general del estado actual en este campo, resaltando nuevas tecnologías, tendencias emergentes, redes de colaboración, investigaciones recientes y nuevas oportunidades para desarrollar investigaciones centradas en la usabilidad y la accesibilidad, como se evidencia a lo largo de este artículo.

Usability and accessibility have become essential pillars in software development since both factors provide an optimal user experience and facilitate efficient and effective interaction between people and technological systems. Recognizing the evolution of these aspects and their growing relevance is crucial to maximizing their benefits, which positively impacts the quality of software products. In this sense, the study shown in this article carried out a bibliometric analysis using the Bibliometrix tool, whose objective was to explore current research trends in evaluating the usability and accessibility of software products. The analysis results reveal an annual growth in related scientific publications of 3.1% between 1988 and 2024, reflecting the sustained and increasing interest of the research community in these topics. Similarly, the analysis provides an overview of the field's current state, highlighting new technologies, emerging trends, collaborative networks, recent research, and new opportunities for developing research focused on usability and accessibility, as evidenced throughout this article.
