Compreender de que forma professores de uma Escola de Formação de
Professores do Município de Benguela percecionam a liderança protagonizada
pelo diretor é a principal finalidade da presente investigação. No sentido de
encontrar resposta à problemática de investigação, anteriormente referida,
gizaram-se três objetivos de investigação, nomeadamente: i)caracterizar o modo
como professores de uma Escola de Formação de Professores do Município de
Benguela percecionam a liderança protagonizada pelodiretor; ii)compreender a
influência do diretor nas dinâmicas de trabalho docente e iii)desenvolver
conhecimento sobre o estilo de liderança preconizado numa Escola de Formação
de Professores do Município de Benguela.
O presente estudo assumiu uma natureza essencialmente qualitativa, tendo o
estudo de caso sido a estratégia de investigação adotada. O estudo empírico
decorreu no ano letivo de 2014 numa Escola de Formação de Professores do
Município de Benguela. O inquérito por questionárioMLQ de Avolio & Bass (2004)
foi a principal técnica de recolha de dados, tendo sido respondido por sessenta e
cinco docentes (n=65). A análise estatística simples foi a técnica de tratamento de
dados privilegiada.
Os principais resultados da presente investigação apontaram para o facto de o
diretor da Escola de Formação de Professores do Município de Benguela
manifestar atitudes comportamentais consonantes comas características dos três
estilos de liderança, prevalecendo contudo as características associadas à
Liderança Transformacional e Transacional sobre as da Liderança Laissez-faire.
The main purpose of this investigation is to understand how teachers in a Teacher Training School in the city of Benguela perceive leadership led by the school principal. In order to find answers to the purpose of this investigation, referred above, were defined three research objectives, namely: i)characterize how teachers of the Teacher Training School in the cityof Benguela perceive the leadership led by the school principal; ii)understand the influence of the school principal in teaching dynamics iii)develop knowledge about the leadership style performed at the Teacher Training School in the city of Benguela. This study took an essentially qualitative nature and the case study has been adopted as research strategy. The empirical study took place in the school year 2014 in a Teacher Training School in the city of Benguela. The questionnaire survey of MLQ Avolio & Bass (2004) was the main data collection technique and it was answered by sixty-five teachers (n=65). A simple statistical analysis was the privileged data processing technique. The main results of this research pointed to the fact that the school principal of the Teacher Training School in the city of Benguela manifest behavioral attitudes consonants with the characteristics of the three leadership styles, however the characteristics associated with Transformational Leadership and Transactional Leadership are prevailing above the Laissez-faire Leadership characteristics.
