Intitulada “O Papel do Diretor na Promoção de Medidas de Combate ao
Insucesso na Disciplina de Matemática”, esta dissertação tem como objetivo principal,
analisar as estratégias de promoção do sucesso escolar implementadas pelo Diretor
na disciplina de Matemática.
Hoje, mais do que nunca, é impossível não considerar a importância da
Educação e do sucesso escolar a Matemática. À escola que outrora se dedicava à
instrução compete-lhe, hoje, uma Educação global, tornando os alunos competentes,
independentes, críticos e responsáveis. Para que tal aconteça é necessário que os
discentes tenham sucesso e por isso compete ao Diretor, a implementação de
medidas que promovam o êxito nesta disciplina considerada de extrema importância,
mas ainda inacessível a muitos alunos.
Para realizar esta investigação optou-se por um Estudo de Natureza Qualitativa,
a desenvolver no Agrupamento X e no terceiro ciclo, utilizando o método de Estudo de
Caso, onde a análise documental constituiu a principal técnica de recolha e análise de
dados.
Deste estudo, concluímos que a monitorização das medidas de promoção de
sucesso escolar é considerada, pelo Diretor, para a organização do ano letivo
seguinte, baseando-nos no facto de que existem medidas que pelo sucesso
apresentado têm continuidade, ao contrário de outras, que pela falta dele, são extintas.
RACT Entitled “The role of the Director in the promotion of suitable measures to fight the lack of success in Mathematics”, is the main aim of this dissertation, as well as to analyse the successful strategies, implemented by the Director in Mathematics, to further school success. Today, more than ever, it is impossible not to consider the impact of Education and school success in Mathematics. The school that once was dedicated to the instruction must have nowadays the competence to promote a global education, making the students competent, independent, critical and responsible. For that to happen students need to succeed and so it is the Director’s task to implement the measures to promote success in this subject, considered of utmost importance but still being somehow inaccessible for many students. To conduct this research, a quality study was chosen to be carried out in the Grouping of Schools X, on the third cycle of Basic Education, by means of Study Case, where the document analysis constitutes the main technique for data collection and analysis. From this sudy we conclude that the monitoring of measures to promote the school success is taken into consideration by the Director when organizing the following year, giving continuity to the measures that proved to be successful, contrarily to others that be come extinct due to the lack of success.
