A violência no trabalho é um fenómeno de interesse crescente a nível mundial.
Em Portugal são escassos os estudos que focam a violência no trabalho, especificamente
em cuidadores formais de jovens institucionalizados/as. Este estudo visou definir,
implementar e avaliar a eficácia de um programa de intervenção em cuidadores formais.
Neste programa tentamos compreender, avaliar e diminuir o impacto da violência
percebida, utilizando a confiança organizacional. O estudo é de natureza quaseexperimental,
com o recurso a duas instituições. Os dados são quantitativos e o estudo é
transversal e correlacional. Os resultados apresentam mudanças significativas na
dimensão da violência no trabalho nomeadamente na perceção do comportamento dos
jovens e na frequência dos comportamentos agressivos. O programa apresenta
resultados exploratórios que podem ser úteis na compreensão deste fenómeno e das
dificuldades da intervenção psicológica.

There is a lack of research studies about violence at work in Portugal, specifically concerning formal caregivers of institutionalized young people. This study sought to define, implement and evaluate the efficacy of an intervention program in formal caregivers. In this program we attempted to understand, evaluate and reduce the impact of the perceived violence, using organizational trust. This was an almost experimental, crossover and correlational study with quantitative data, resorting two institutions. Significant changes in the extent of violence at work were particularly observed in the perception of the behavior of young people and in the frequency of aggressive behavior. The program presents exploratory results that may be relevant to understand this phenomenon and the difficulties of a psychological intervention.
