Abstract
A principal questão que levou à realização desta dissertação foi a de comparar o
apoio dado pelas diversas organizações (Estado, Saúde e Educação) em crianças com
Paralisia Cerebral, nomeadamente entre Portugal e Inglaterra.
A metodologia utilizada neste estudo foi a metodologia qualitativa, destacandose
as entrevistas realizadas às mães de duas crianças (uma em Portugal, outra em
Inglaterra) e a duas Professoras de Educação Especial (uma em Portugal e outra em
Inglaterra), à observação em campo, das Escolas frequentadas pelas crianças, e aos
registos fotográficos, quer das escolas, quer dos equipamentos que possuem.
Os resultados revelaram que os dois países têm um apoio bastante diferente,
existindo desta forma bastante desigualdade em dois países que à data desta dissertação
pertencem à União Europeia e que se regem pelas leis gerais.
É de salientar as diferenças existentes no apoio do Estado, em relação aos apoios
monetários, no apoio à Saúde, e nas Escolas, existindo diversas discrepâncias nos
diferentes apoios.
É notória a inclusão existente em Portugal, e este estudo permite salientar a
importância que a inclusão tem, a maneira como é implantada em Portugal de forma
cuidada e também a maneira como não é implantada em Inglaterra.
The main question that led to this work was to compare the support given by the multiple organizations (State, Health and Education) in children with Cerebral Palsy, between Portugal and England. The method used in this study was a qualitative method, focused on the interviews made to the mothers of two childern (one in Portugal and another in England) and other two interviews made to Special Education Teachers (one in Portugal and another in England), field observation, schools attended by the two children, and phorographic records, of booth schools and equipment of the children. The results showed that this two countries have a different support, and there is a lot of difference in two countries that in the date of this dissertation belong to the European Union, and thar are governed by general laws. It is noteworthy that there are huge differences on the support of the State, in relation to monetary support, in Health support, and in the Schools, were are several distintion in the different supports. The inclusion in Portugal is well-known, and this study makes it possible to accentuate the importance that inclusion has, the way it is implanted in a careful way in Portugal, and the way it is not, in England.
