Abstract
No presente estudo a problemática de investigação situa-se no contexto das
lideranças escolares, em particular no modo como professores de uma escola de
formação de professores da província de Benguela percecionam a liderança do
diretor. Para responder à problemática de investigação definiram-se três objetivos:
i) caracterizar o modo como professores da escola de formação de professores do
Futuro da província de Benguela percecionam a liderança protagonizada pelo
diretor; ii) compreender a influência do diretor nas dinâmicas de trabalho docente e
iii) desenvolver conhecimento sobre o estilo de liderança preconizado na escola de
formação de professores do Futuro da província de Benguela.
A metodologia de investigação adotada assumiu uma natureza
predominantemente qualitativa, tendo o estudo de caso sido a estratégia de
investigação privilegiada. O estudo empírico decorreu no ano letivo de 2014 numa
escola de formação de professores da província de Benguela. O inquérito por
questionário MLQ de Avolio & Bass (2004) aplicado à totalidade dos docentes
(n=20) foi a principal técnica de recolha de dados. A análise de estatística simples
foi a técnica de tratamento de dados privilegiada.
Os principais resultados do estudo apontaram para o facto de o diretor da
Escola de Formação de Professores do Futuro da província de Benguela revelar
atitudes comportamentais e posições consonantes com a Liderança Laissez-Faire
e algumas categorias da Liderança Transformacional.
In the present study the research problem lies in the context of school leaders, particularly in how teachers at a teacher training school in Benguela province perceives the leadership of the school principal. To answer the research problem were defined three objectives: i) characterize how teachers of the training school for teachers in Benguela province perceives the leadership led by the school principal; ii) understand the influence of the school principal in the teaching work dynamics iii) develop knowledge about the style of leadership developed in the training school for teachers in Benguela province. The adopted research methodology assumed a predominantly qualitative nature, and case study was the preferred research strategy. The empirical study took place in the academic year 2014 in a teacher training school in Benguela province. The main data collection technique was the MLQ questionnaire of Avolio & Bass (2004) applied to all the teachers (n=20). A simple statistical analysis was the privileged data processing technique. The main results of the study pointed to the fact that the school principal of the teacher training school in Benguela province reveal behavioral attitudes and positions in line with the Laissez-Faire Leadership and some categories of Transformational Leadership.
